From hand to steam
The text on the plaque
Due to the entry of the farmers of Schoonloo and other suppliers, turnover rose sharply. As a result, the manual power factory could no longer process the milk supply.
In 1914 a new factory was built on the Schoonloërstraat with a corn mill attached to it. The name became V.Z.O.D., which means Progress Is Our Goal.
In 1927 the corn mill was expanded. On the occasion of this, a memorial stone was placed with the names of the then board members and the director.
In 1970, the milk reception was closed. A few years later, the factory was sold and used as a garage after a renovation.
In 2006 it was completely demolished and seven houses were built.
